We advocate a concept of freedom that gives equal consideration to social freedoms (freedom from hardship and poverty), ecological freedoms (a livable environment for future generations), and classical freedoms (freedom from oppression and surveillance). We stand against anti-science sentiment and populism.
We are not just another new party — our roots lie in 40 years of social liberal tradition. We stand for honest, transparent politics without populism or hostility towards science. With us, every vote, every idea, and every commitment counts.
What we do differently
🎓 Education
Education is the key to freedom. For us, education policy is the most important focus of politics. Only through excellent, accessible education can we create genuine equality of opportunity.
We demand:
- A nationally uniform education system with central standards
- One school with individual support
- Free education from nursery school to university
- BAföG independent of parents
- Lifelong learning as the norm
- Modern subjects such as ‘values and norms’ instead of denominational religious education
💼 Economy
A social market economy with a future. We stand for economic policies that promote innovation, create fair competitive conditions and, at the same time, ensure social justice.
Our objectives:
- Strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises and fair competition
- Expansion of modern infrastructure (digitalisation, mobility, energy)
- Promotion of start-ups and innovation
- Compatibility of family and work
- Promoting dual training and in-company continuing education
- Combating monopolies and the market power of large corporations
⚖️ Civil Rights
Freedom needs protection. Safeguarding and expanding universal civil rights is the core concern of our policy — against state surveillance and for digital freedoms.
What we are fighting for:
- General confidentiality of communications (including digital communications)
- No un-restricted data retention
- No surveillance without cause
- Equality for all life styles
- Protection of minorities
- Transparent, citizen-centred administration
- More direct democracy
